CANADIAN WEST COAST CONTAINER CAPACITY STUDY

Black Quay delivered a far-reaching high-level assessment of Vancouver’s multiple container terminals’ capacity to handle west coast Canadian container trade demand into the long-term. This included analysis of the existing container ports to handle the task under various scenarios versus the controversial option to develop another port and the costs of doing so.

Black Quay’s study included determination of potential container ship size and capacity modelling at Canadian west coast ports over the next 30 years alongside determination of capacity shortfalls as well as identification of options to address this.
