Glen Curry
Founder & Managing Director
Glen is the founder of Black Quay Consulting and its principal port planner and advisor. He delivers strategic port planning, operational port planning and maritime transaction advisory work directly to clients worldwide, and acts as an expert adviser on port mergers and acquisitions.
He brings over 30 years of maritime and major civil infrastructure experience across Australasia, Europe, the Middle East, South East Asia and North America. Before founding Black Quay Consulting over a decade ago, he managed and developed Mott MacDonald’s global maritime business, and prior to that built Hyder Consulting’s maritime business across Australasia (now Arcadis).
Glen is an internationally recognised expert in strategic and operational port masterplanning, and has delivered several of the world’s largest long-term port development plans — including the Port of New York & New Jersey 30-Year Masterplan, the South Australian Ports 50-Year Masterplan, the New Zealand North Island 100-Year Port Future Study, and key elements of the Westport Masterplan in Western Australia.
He is also a leading advisory consultant on multi-billion-dollar port and freight transactions, providing technical, commercial and trade forecasting due diligence to banks and investors. He has acted as lead adviser on the $9.7 billion Port of Melbourne lease, the GCT Terminals share sale in New York and Vancouver, and the Long Beach Container Terminal sale in Southern California.
Glen specialises in the strategic and operational planning of container terminals, ferry and cruise terminals, bulk and general cargo terminals, and offshore supply bases. He has completed postgraduate research into advanced dynamic simulation modelling of maritime ports.
His senior board roles at large multinational consultancies have included global and regional director positions with responsibility for profit and loss, senior recruitment, acquisitions, risk management, strategic business planning, corporate governance and business development, alongside major project delivery. He is also Chairman of CFlo World and Doctor Sand, both based in India.

Peter Spencer
Director, Australia
Peter leads Black Quay Consulting in Australia. His background in infrastructure and operational costing means he is well placed to assess both capital and operating cost outlooks across ports and the wider supply chain.
He has over 30 years’ experience in the construction industry and is a qualified services engineer. Peter founded several construction companies of his own before moving into senior estimating work on construction projects across Australia, and is an experienced project manager and client-facing business development executive. He has been responsible for the services costing and design of many of Australia’s most significant port and infrastructure developments.
As a Director of Black Quay, Peter is responsible for the company’s direction in Australia and is client-facing on projects across Asia. He continues to hold principal roles in other business ventures and to provide senior-level cost estimation on major infrastructure projects.

Molly Campbell
Strategic Advisor, North America
Molly advises Black Quay’s clients in the United States on port planning and port M&A projects, working with port authorities and developers across the country. She also contributes to projects elsewhere in the world, where her knowledge of port planning, project integration, competition analysis and port commercial strategy is drawn upon.
She has 30 years of senior port advisory and port executive leadership experience, and is among the most respected advisers to port authorities internationally. Her standing comes from first-hand executive experience running ports rather than observing them.
Molly previously held the role of Director of the Port Department at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, where she oversaw record growth, implemented capacity initiatives across all five of the port’s container terminals, and led the integration of the long-term masterplan Black Quay delivered for the ports under PANYNJ control.
Before that she held senior leadership positions at the Port of Los Angeles, delivering major port capacity and operational efficiency programmes and leading the port to become a world leader in green port initiatives, including its plan to reach carbon neutrality. She has also held senior roles at the City of Los Angeles and the Walt Disney Company.

Caryn Anderson
Strategic Advisor, Australia
Caryn helps deliver port planning and port M&A projects for Black Quay’s clients in Australia and beyond.
She is an accomplished and widely respected senior figure in the Australian ports and maritime sector, with over 30 years of experience across Australian and international markets. She has led complex port projects and strategic initiatives, driving organisational growth through a clear focus on people, stakeholder value and purposeful impact.
Her senior-level experience spans domestic and international infrastructure, logistics, construction, emergency response and strategic consulting, in both commercial and government environments. Caryn’s particular strengths are strategic port planning, concept-to-delivery project execution, stakeholder alignment, commercial strategy and investment planning.
Among other senior industry roles, Caryn was Executive General Manager at the Port of Melbourne, where she led the port’s strategy, spearheaded major capacity projects and managed complex stakeholder relationships.

Lynn Lai
Strategic Advisor, United Kingdom & New Zealand
Lynn supports Black Quay on complex trade and technical due diligence for major port transactions, delivers port trade and commercial studies, advises on critical infrastructure costs, and assists clients on key operational matters.
She has almost 20 years’ experience in infrastructure advisory and is a highly regarded qualified transport economist. Lynn has held senior infrastructure advisory roles across Australasia and Europe, including at EY, Deloitte, Arup and KPMG, supporting the commercial delivery of major maritime and landside infrastructure projects.
She advises both public and private sector clients on feasibility studies and business case development, procurement, economic feasibility and financial close, and has advanced skills in complex economic and financial modelling.
Lynn is also an enrolled barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand and a CFA candidate. She has delivered projects across New Zealand, Australia, the United Kingdom, Vietnam, the Philippines and the Pacific Islands.
