We are delighted to announce that July 2023 saw us reaching a milestone in our delivery of port, freight and offshore wind related transaction due-diligence, having now provided our skills and experience on projects totalling USD $40billion in total transaction value. This milestone marks Black Quay Maritime Consulting as one of the world's leading specialist ports and maritime advisory consultancies.

Black Quay have been awarded the contract to deliver the study into expanding open access arrangements at Port of Townsville in North Queensland, Australia. The comprehensive study includes independent industry sounding of primary port customers and operational port planning across the proposed Open Access Precinct. The project will ensure that the Port can efficiently respond to the needs of port users into the future. Specific project details remain confidential.

Black Quay were engaged by Port of Melbourne to provide an independent calculation of Port of Melbourne’s container capacity, including all three terminals existing terminals located at Swanson Dock and Webb Dock. Our work is one of a number of assessments being delivered by the port in assessing key drivers for the port capacity enhancement program. The outcomes will be publicly available.

Following completion of the Flinders Ports Masterplan, Black Quay have now also completed short-term port planning of Port Adelaide’s Inner Harbour. The Inner Harbour Precinct is an important part of the Port and handles a mix of bulk commodities and logistics-based services. The plan is designed to direct the future of the precinct and ensure its best use for Flinders Ports. Plan details are confidential.

Black Quay have delivered a port planning assessment of container terminal capacity needs on the Canadian west coast given differing opinions on how best to provide this into the future. The study examines future trade and container fleet tasks, and an optimal plan on their accommodation around Vancouver. Client Confidential

Black Quay has been appointed to deliver the long-term container fleet forecast for Western Australia for the WA Department of Transport. Project details remain confidential at this stage, but we look forward to working on this critical piece of data for Perth's long-term container port plan

Los Angeles based Molly Campbell has been appointed as Non-Executive Director for Black Quay in the US, in an advisory position. Molly is highly regarded in the US Ports & Maritime Sector, having previously been Director of the Port of New York & New Jersey’s Port Department, and prior, Deputy Executive Director at the Port of Los Angeles. Black Quay’s involvement in US projects continues to grow, and it is now time to focus on our key clients there and build our service offering.

We had the pleasure of working with the team at Sapere New Zealand, assisting them in the delivery of the New Zealand Upper North Island Supply Chain Strategy which aims to advise Government on the optimal long-term future of the regions’ container port and associated supply chain capability. It builds on the high-profile Port Future Study that Black Quay previously helped deliver.

Black Quay has completed our study for the Western Australian Government (Westport) into various long-term container port development options for Perth and the wider State of Western Australia, determining their commercial and technical viability, as well as relative port competitiveness for multi-port scenarios.

Black Quay is pleased to advise that the transaction for the sale of Townsville Bulk Storage & Handling (TBSH) in Townsville, Australia has been successfully concluded. We are proud to have managed the sale process and delivered all primary sell-side due-diligence.
